*I have to give the bro-in-law credit for this recipe. He was telling me how to do it on Sunday and my mouth just started to water. I just HAD to try it. If you know me, then you know that I LOVE grill food. There is nothing quite like it. There will be a ton of grill recipes this summer! This turned out so great! We were gobbling it up like crazy! I am on a weight loss challenge so I had one drumstick with the skin removed. And believe me that I was definitely wanting more, but I didn't give in and I'm quite proud. =) This will go into my favorite recipe category in my recipe box. So good!! And so easy!!
You'll need:
-6 drumsticks=$.12 (I got 12 drumsticks on sale for $1 killer deal! & had a coupon for $.75 off any one chicken pkg. so I got 12 drumsticks for $.25!! um...I was proud!!)
-1/2 c. bbq sauce=$.25
-1 tbs. italian seasoning=$.05
-1 tbs. garlic powder=$.05
total=$.47 (this will probably end up costing you about $3.00 if you get your chicken on sale. Still a way cheapo meal)
DIRECTIONS:
-Thaw your chicken. Sprinkle with 1/2 garlic powder and 1/2 italian seasoning.
-Heat grill up on med. heat, then turn down to low heat when you put chicken on.
-In a small bowl combine, bbq sauce and rest of garlic powder and italian seasoning.
-Put seasoned chicken side down on hot grill. Turn heat down to low. Baste chicken heavily with bbq sauce mix. Let cook for 10 min. on one side.
-Flip chicken over, baste other side heavily. Let cook for another 10 min. Then baste both sides again and let chicken cook about another 2 minutes or until juices run clear.
*I served this with mashed potatoes and baked broccoli (drizzle olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper, bake. Yum!)
This was a way easy recipe and the chicken was so flavorful and juicy. Yum!!
