Rita's Sloppy Joes
I posted this a while ago, and this week while I was on a "I don't know what to cook" kick, I asked my daughter what she wanted for dinner and without any thought she yelled "sloppy joes!" So sloppy joes it was. Easy, quick, and oh so delicious.
I haven't found a better sloppy joe recipe than my mother-in-laws! It is great!! And I haven't found a single person who won't eat this either!!
You'll need:
-2 lbs ground beef=free (we did a beef last year) around $3.00
-1/4 cup chopped/minced onion=free from garden
-1 tsp. chili powder=$.05
-2 tbs. brown sugar=$.10
-1 tbs. vinegar=$.05
-2 tbs. mustard=$.10

-1 tbs. worshetershire sauce=$.10
-1-8 oz. can tomato paste=$.28
-1 can cream of mushroom soup=$1.00

*I served this with watermelon from our garden and some cooked trumpet squash also from the garden.
**This makes a TON; so we usually eat 1/2 then freeze the other 1/2 for another time, easy dinner prep! Just warm and serve!
